Another year is in the books at RECSOLU and like in years past we saw tremendous growth. One of the biggest differences this year as that we grew smarter. Teams ran more efficiently, engineering had better focus, sales positioned products more effectively, and thus the same level of energy resulted in bigger wins.
I’ll address our 2015 goals in another post, but would like to discuss these wins from 2014 first.
Client Partner Growth
In 2014 RECSOLU saw more new clients added, than any year previously. How did we do it? Did we hire more sales team members? Did we spend more in marketing? Did we add new channel partners? No, no, and no. The primary lead generation came through customer referrals. David Stiefel and team then brilliantly created an easy entry-point for these referrals to utilize our apps and software. The new client partners came from all different verticals including financial services, tech, manufacturing, automotive, and consumer products. Adding more clients allows us to increase our investment in our current and future products, which our clients love.
Focus on Mobile
In 2013 we set out to build the most robust and resilient mobile recruiting apps that replicate the exact workflows at recruiting events and succeeded wildly. The only problem was that this was exclusively on iOS, so customers that wanted to use Android or Windows devices had to get iPads/iPhones or continue on paper. In 2014 RECSOLU expanded our world-class mobile recruiting apps to be platform agnostic. Want to use your Surface or Kindle, not a problem! Enterprise grade apps must be native, and RECSOLU built out these apps right here in Chicago. This is a huge win for our client partners as they can now use virtually any tablets.
Understanding Data
With usage of RECSOLU mobile apps going through the roof, for the first time, client partners now had data on the success of their recruitment events. Making sense of data is not an easy task! During the RECSOLU User Conference in June, we unveiled a new metrics component that gives our users an instant understanding of the data they captured. Both graphically pleasing and insightful, the new metrics section can easily be exported to help our clients make recommendations quantitatively along with the qualitative feedback they have always had.
RECSOLU Help Desk
The client success team at RECSOLU is the best in the world. So good that our client partners enjoy the ability to contact them for best practices, not just in utilizing our software, but in general talent acquisition strategy. With client global usage soaring and our desire to enable the success team to be more strategic, the RECSOLU Help Desk was created. Launched in October and designed to provide additional support for all of our client partner needs, the RECSOLU Help Desk is used as a first layer of support that is monitored by a newly constructed support team. Items that can be answered quickly and easily are resolved immediately, and those that need more attention go directly to the client partner’s account manager. This is an exciting foundation that can scale with our client needs.
RECSOLU Investment
While courting investors wasn’t a strategic goal in 2014, we did see several opportunities to scale our existing business. For those who know me, I have incredible patience… unless I want something now. In order to make the most of the opportunities in the HR Tech space, we spent time getting to know the top venture capitalists and giving them our vision of how talent acquisition can be changed monumentally. After careful consideration,RECSOLU was incredibly excited to announce a $6M investment from First Analysis. In addition to the capital, adding Corey Greendale and Jim Macdonald to our board has already provided great value. Their insights in both SaaS and HR Tech will help Dan and I grow as leaders and help RECSOLU avoid pitfalls that can hurt hyper-growth companies.
We have very similar expectations for 2015. In addition to our 2014 goals of bigger, better, easier and faster, we’re adding smarter to our list!
I want to thank all of our client partners for sharing their passion and ideas with us. Without you we wouldn’t be able to innovate at this pace. Happy New Year!
