Powering efficient and equitable hiring for early-career candidates and recruiters
Your first job can have a big impact on your career —and your life.
That’s why we take such great pride in our mission – helping the world’s top companies recruit the future of their workforce. Here at Yello, we’re committed to providing best-in-class software to recruiters, and helping qualified and recent graduates from diverse backgrounds find internships and jobs.
The best part about Yello? Our people. We are genuine, thoughtful and committed. We work from all across the United States but we stay connected. We pursue growth and learn from each other. We’d love for you to join us.
Here at Yello, we are considered “remote-first” and have employees all over the US. We use Slack to stay connected and foster collaboration. Around 50% of our employees are located in Illinois, and we have an office in Chicago that folks can use if they live nearby. Working in the office is completely optional. Some people come in one day a week and some come in once a quarter – it is up to the individual.
Within my first year at Yello, three characteristics stand out the most from my interactions within the Engineering department: support, autonomy and challenge. My manager has supported my personal vision for the direction of my growth. I've been given autonomy to take on high visibility projects with high level stakeholders solely based on previous knowledge and exposure.
Senior Production Support Engineer II
My leader has taken the time to get to know what my interests are and where I’d like to see myself, both short and long term. They have provided me with the resources and mentorship needed to get me to the next step of my career and it is a continued topic of conversation during 1:1s to ensure my personal goals are being met.
Sr. Customer Success Manager
The greatest professional growth I've experienced at Yello has been learning to effectively share my opinion and not just go with the flow. I've learned that there's a reason I have a seat at the table: My opinion is valuable.
Yello's Core Values
- Pursue Growth & Learning
- Cultivate Positivity
- Embrace Change
- Take Ownership
- Customer & Candidate Success
- Stronger Together
Pursue Growth & Learning
We are always learning. We’d rather be the “learn-it-all” in the room than the “know-it-all” because we believe we all benefit from growing and learning every day. We constantly strive to be really (really) good at what we do, and we’re motivated by the fact that we’re not the best in the world.
We know that negativity is toxic and contagious. We assume positive intent and go to great lengths to make sure negativity doesn’t get in the way of our work or the work of our team. When things aren’t going as planned, we take a positive and proactive approach.
We know that change is necessary for building, growing, and succeeding. We embrace the unknown and welcome change because we understand that progress happens in the moments that aren’t familiar or comfortable. Those moments push us forward. Onward and upward!
We figure out what needs to be done and we do it. We’ll never dismiss something as “someone else’s problem.” We’re proactive about our work and don’t wait for another person to tell us what to do. We know we can ask for help when we need it, and we can count on each other to back us up.
Customer & Candidate Success is Our Success
We put the candidate and customers first in every single thing we do because their success is critical to the future of Yello. We’re inspired to create a world-class experience every day and are always thinking about ways we can serve our candidates and customers better.
As the saying goes, “there is no *I* in Team.” We are ONE team, with ONE dream accomplishing success together. When one of us wins, we all win, and diversity of thought makes us smarter and stronger.
We love when people ask,
“So, what’s it like to work at Yello?”
As a remote-first team, we care a lot about staying connected. Every week, we celebrate birthdays on Slack, and we shout out employee anniversaries and promotions each month. We love to have fun together virtually and in-person for events like March Madness, our annual charity auction, and twice a year in-person get-togethers in Chicago.
Some of our favorite traditions:
- The RECSY’s
Think the Dundie’s, but more Yello-y. Everyone gets an award and funny is the name of the game! You could be the next Walking Jukebox or King of GIFs.
- Founders’ and Presidents Clubs
Once a year, we recognize the peer-nominated MVP, Rookie of the Year & Growth Awards, and also spotlight quota-carrying employees who exceeded their quotas for everything they do to help Yello succeed.
Transparency is vital to the culture at Yello and a big part of how we stay connected. We connect and share information each week with a 10-minute company stand-up and a note from Corey Ferengul, Yello’s CEO.
Yello Together are our communities within Yello that come together around a common background or passion. Employees create these groups to connect, support, educate, and learn about each other. Learn more about DEI at Yello
